A mountain for the whole family’s ski adventures – with slopes in every direction
Kläppen is now Sweden’s largest family-owned ski resort. Here you’ll find skiing in every direction, Sälen’s longest illuminated slope and 37 kilometres of cross-country trails. In total, 41 runs and 22 lifts await you – plenty of space to find your own favourites, no matter your level.
We want your time here to feel easy. Children up to and including 7 years ski for free, and we offer weekly activities at no extra cost. Gondol Sälen takes you gently up the mountain with warm seats and views over the valley. Safe for children and smooth for adults – from the first run to the last.
The idea that shaped Kläppenberget – from Per to Gustav
When Kläppen was built in the 1980s, it was Per Eriksson who set the direction.
He wanted to create a mountain where everyone could start from the top, and where skiing worked well even when the weather changed. That’s why the forest around the slopes was kept.
It was a wise decision – the trees protect against the wind, keep the slopes less icy and help prevent the fog from settling in.
That way of seeing the mountain lived on in the next generation.
Gustav grew up here and early on saw how the place could continue to evolve. From his first years in the snowpark to his role as CEO, he has kept building on his father’s original idea: to create a well-kept, comfortable ski experience for everyone who comes here.
Today, we develop Kläppenberget in that same spirit: warm, thoughtful and with a mountain that’s easy to understand – and easy to feel at home in.

Kläppen offers four well-prepared cross-country trails totalling 37 kilometres, suitable for all levels. Here you will find the atmospheric Älvspåret, the challenging Bergspåret, the beautiful Toppspåret and three variations of Myrspåret. A perfect way to enjoy nature at your own pace.
Our Slopes
We have a total of 41 slopes and 22 lifts that take you around the entire Kläppen mountain. Here, you can reach an altitude of 657 metres above sea level and enjoy a vertical drop of 315 metres. The longest slope is 3 kilometres and there are a total of 26 kilometres of runs, 10 of which are illuminated for night skiing. On the mountain, you will also find three Snowparks and five piste machines that ensure perfect conditions every day.
SkiingOur Cross-country Trails
For those who love cross-country skiing, Kläppen offers four well-groomed trails totalling 37 kilometres. There is something for every level; the atmospheric Älvspåret at 13 kilometres, the challenging Bergspåret at just over 24 kilometres, the beautiful Toppspåret at 6 kilometres, and Myrspåret's three options ranging from 5 to 9 kilometres.
Cross-country skiingGondola Sälen
Kläppen is the only ski resort in Sälen that offers gondola lifts. The modern gondola cabins with heated seats provide comfortable and convenient transport to the top of Kläppenberget.
