In the cleaning cupboard you will find:
1 vacuum cleaner with at least one additional vacuum bag
1 broom set
Disposable mopheads
1 mopstand
1 bucket
1 "rag box" with one use/reusable rags
2 bottles of detergent (all-purpose and sanitary)
1 Scotch Brite sponge (use this for the last part of the bathroom cleaning and then throw it away) Some cabinets contain more things. This depends on what the owner supplemented with.

The rags in this compartment, are the ones you should use to clean with. They are fine to wet and wring out and can be used more than once. Use these together with the all-purpose cleaner, which also works well for windows and mirrors. These are discarded in compost.
Soak the mop yarn with water, squeeze it out and then attach it to the mop stand using its Velcro attachment. Once this is in place, spray on an all-purpose cleaner. It will be the right amount and you can wipe the floors. Disposable mop pads are disposed of in residual waste.
Some owners have chosen not to replace their mopstands and mopheads. These are then used with a bucket and water/detergent in the "normal way."
The bathroom is cleaned with cloth from the "rag box", Scotch Brite and the solution called Sanitary cleaning.
Vacuum cleaner bag there should be an extra in reserve. If the vacuum cleaner bag is full, change to a new one.
CHECKLIST FOR DEPARTURE CLEANING
There is a copy of this checklist in your cabin/apartment. Check it off and sign when you're done. Leave it visible on the sink upon departure, so our inspectors can check off. If this is missing or if it has been lost, extra copies ones are available at the reception at Hotel Kurbits.
KITCHEN/LIVING ROOM
- Take the ashes out of the stove so it has time to cool and clean the glass shutters if the stove has this. NB! NEVER VACUUM this. Hot ash = put in ash bucket-cool-throw on residual waste.
- Make sure that glasses, dishes and cutlery are clean and set up in cabinets and drawers.
- Clean the dishwasher and don't forget to check the strainer.
- Clean fridge/freezer. (Leave these on and don't forget to close the doors properly after cleaning)
- Clean the stove, oven and extractor hood.
- Clean the sink and do not forget about the cutting board (if there is a pull-out one)
- Clean coffee maker and microwave.
- Wipe out cabinets, drawers and the garbage closet under the sink.
- Clean cabinet and drawer fronts.
- Take out all the carpets and shake them.
- Dust dry windowsills, shelves, moldings and lamps.
- Clean the windows if necessary.
- Wipe down tables and chairs.
- Vacuum the sofa and also under the cushions (if possible).
BEDROOM
- Shake duvets and pillows outdoors. Check that everything is clean and fresh, otherwise report this to the cleaning department at phone +46(0)280-96218
- Correct the bedding and put them folded together on the bed.
- If you rented sheet sets, please remove these and place together with the towels in the hall.
- Dust dry shelves, cabinets, bedside tables and bedfellows.
- Wipe out all closets
BATHROOM
- Polish mirror.
- Clean the sink inside / underneath, as well as the walls around the sink and polish the faucet.
- Flush the water and check that the hot water is working.
- Check that the sewer drain is not clogged.
- Clean shower enclosures and floor drains, as well as plaster faucets and pipes.
- Clean the toilet inside and out as well as the walls and pipes behind.
- Wet dry the shower floors and drains, and the sauna if available.
WHEN EVERYTHING IS COMPLETE - Vacuum and wipe the floors everywhere with a damp mop (wet wipe only floors that lack carpeting) Do not forget about the stairs if there is one.
CHECK ALSO
- The heat is on
- That there is no garbage or garbage on the terrace / balcony - That garbage and garbage is thrown away.
- That garbage and garbage are thrown away
- Balcony / patio door is locked and the windows are closed
- Correct curtains, tablecloths, carpets, chairs and tables, so that it looks neat and stylish!
- Lock the front door and have a safe drive home!
